Vikings QB Favre listed as 'questionable' but expected to start ...

After suffering an ankle injury in the Jets? loss at San Diego on Monday Night, the quarter back is listed as ?possible? on the official National Football League injury report. The good news is that away from the weekly work of fiction that is the NFL injury report, Favre is doing much better and is expected to start on Sunday against Arizona.

Favre rolled his ankle early in the third quarter of the Jets 48-29 loss in the Charges Field, but stayed in the game until he was replaced by Kellen Clemens with just over two minutes remaining. He played well despite the injury, and the Jets offense finally started to get on track in the 2nd half of the game. Unfortunately their defense wasn?t able to keep the Chargers off the board and they were unable to cut into a sizable halftime deficit.

Favre was limping noticeably on Tuesday morning following the game but even then Jets coach Eric Mangini felt confident that he?d be able to start on Sunday. While Magini hasn?t changed his tune, he hasn?t confirmed anything regarding Favre?s status either. Favre?s limp has becoming less pronounced all week and he?s been participating in team practices on what the Jets refer to as a ?limited basis?.

Brett has started a NFL record 256 consecutive games at QB, but neither he nor his coach have expressed much concern throughout the week that his streak is about to end due to his ankle woes.

At the moment the Jets are much more concerned about injuries to other players-nose tackle Kris Jenkins missed most of the San Diego game with a nagging back injury and also practiced on a ?limited basis? this week. The Jets are expecting that he?ll be able to start on Sunday. Cornerback Justin Miller, who missed the team?s first three games with a foot injury, is a ?gametime decision?. Injuries have also impacted the Jets kicking game where second string punter Ben Graham and PK Jay Feely will handle those duties for another week.
